10 Students Jostle for N1m Cash Prize in Essay Contest

September 05, (THEWILL) – No fewer than 10 undergraduates have been shortlisted for the grand finale of the 2022 Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate Essay Competition.

The National finalists who qualified from various public and private tertiary institutions in the country are already in Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State for the prestigious award event.

A statement issued to journalists in Yenagoa, by Mr. Eyinimi Omorozi, CEO of Mahogany 21st Century Concepts Limited, consultants to the NCDMB on the academic exercise, noted that the selection has come to an end with the award and prize-giving ceremony scheduled to hold Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Yenagoa.

According to him, “the 2022 edition of the NCDMB national academic exercise is the sixth in the series and is organized annually primarily to promote the writing, analytical and research conduct potentials of the students to enhance academic excellence as well as create awareness for the youths on the local content policy so as to position them effectively to explore the numerous opportunities in the oil and gas industry.

“The first prize winner is expected to cart away one million naira while the second and third prize winners are to receive seven hundred and five hundred thousand nairas respectively.

“All the ten finalists will each receive a laptop computer and other interesting items. The topic of the 2022 NCDMB essay competition is ‘Strategising for Transformation to Clean Energy in a Changing Global Energy Landscape: The NCDMB Intervention’.”
