Yuletide: Canadian-Based Couple Empowers Nkwerre Indigents

GTBCO FOOD DRINL

December 27, (THEWILL) – A Non-governmental organisation, Chinedu and Vivian Nmezi Humanitarian Foundation, on December 23, 2023, distributed assorted food items to indigent people of Duruawuzie Nanwahia Umugara community, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.

Presenting her address at the occasion, the Founder, Evang. Vivian Ngozi Nmezi said it was born out of their love to help the less-privileged of society and to empower people through the word of God.

“We are here to ease the pains of most individuals, whom God will give the privilege to share from what He has blessed us with. It is with great humility that we are here to put smiles on your faces and to reassure you that God is very much mindful of you”.

They, therefore, urged Christians to shun bitterness, anger, fighting, backbiting, witch-hunting, wickedness and all sorts of worldly acts that are not of God.

“Let us embrace one another irrespective of denominations or Religion, for God is never partial to any set of people. His rain, His sun and everything that He created is there for all mankind”, He enjoined.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Help From The Lord’, read from Luke 16:10, Rev. Enoch Iwuala, a guest preacher at the occasion, urged Christians to always be hopeful and optimistic.

“Whatever you think you’ve acquired, one day, you will leave them. God is the giver of these blessings. Let us be givers.”

The ceremony that took place at the Umugara Village Square, had its attendance, Religious leaders and various groups of Monarchs, among whom was His Royal Majesty, Eze Chijioke Okwara (The Eshi of Nkwerre).

The Traditional ruler, in his speech, said he was impressed with what the man was doing in his village and therefore prayed for God to bless him.

He commended the Founders, Chinedu Nmezi and his wife, to continue in his humanitarian gestures, praying to God to uplift him.

In their separate reactions, a blind man, who was one of the beneficiaries, Mr Emmanuel Nwachukwu and a crippled, Mrs Anderline Unanka, said their hearts were filled with joy for the gifts items they received from the foundation, disclosing that the gifts came at a period they thought all hope was lost.

Items distributed at the ceremony include; bags of rice, beans, Cartons of tomatoes, indomie noodles, bottles of groundnut oil and others.

Recall that this Nkwerre-born Canadian-based Philanthropist; Reverend Chinedu Nmezi and his amiable Wife, Evangelist Vivian Nmezi, have empowered so many youths and the needy within and outside Nkwerre.
