SAN FRANCISCO, September 19, (THEWILL) – Alhaji Ibrahim Geidam, the Governor of Yobe State, Thursday fired at least five Commissioners from the state’s cabinet over what he described as their “inefficiency” in the discharge of their portfolios.
The minor cabinet reshuffle was announced at the weekly Executive Council meeting held at the Government House Council chambers.
Those sacked are Alhaji Yusuf Yahaya (Sports), Alhaji Bala Haladu (Transport and Energy), Alhaji Ahmed Wakil Sarki (Environment), Ahaji Aji Yerima Bularafa (Higher Education), and Hajiya Fatsuma Talba (Health).
“The Commissioners should not consider the relief of their appointment as malice but a normal routine cabinet shake up in order to meet up with the aspirations and yearnings of the masses of Yobe State,” Geidam stated.
The Governor while thanking the outgoing Commissioners assured them that they could be recalled to serve in different capacities after careful consultations with stakeholders.
