June 13, (THEWILL) – The deputy governor of Yobe State, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, has lost his son, Buni, in a road accident.
A statement signed by his press secretary, Hussaini Mai Suleh, in Damaturu, said the seven-year-old boy who was a namesake to Governor Mai Mala Buni, died in a crash along Maiduguri-Kano road on Saturday.
He said the boy had been buried according to Islamic rites at the palace of the Mai of Fune in Damagum town in Fune local government area.
Reacting to the tragic incident, the bereaved deputy governor said, “I will forever remember him as somebody close to me.’’
Top government officials including Governor Buni and other personalities were at the residence of Gubana to sympathise with the family over the death
Governor Buni expressed shock and commiserated with Gubana. The governor prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the accident.
He also condoled with Maina Digma Gana, a member representing Fune state constituency, over the death of his daughter, as well as the family of late Alh. Ado Garba.
Buni described the deaths as sad and shocking, adding that “is the will of Allah (SWT), our creator.”
“It is their appointed time to depart the World and we pray to Allah (SWT) to forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest in Aljannatu Firdausi.
“May Allah also grant their families the fortitude to bear the huge loss”, Buni said.
