October 24, (THEWILL) – Fabio Wardley and David Adeleye have stoked the flames ahead of their heavyweight clash in Saudi Arabia this weekend. The bitter foes traded verbal jabs whilst previewing their support bout to Tyson Fury’s fight with Francis Ngannou on October 28.

The war of words began after Adeleye blamed Wardley’s team for an altercation between the pair at a recent press event. Wardley dismissed the incident as “the actions of a few” ruining what could have been a “great day”. Both men were, however, keen to downplay the confrontation and turn focus to their upcoming bout.

Wardley, who defends his British title, insisted he is a “level above” his 12-0 opponent, pointing to his superior resume and experience on big stages. Adeleye acknowledged Wardley’s track record but remained typically bullish, vowing to “stop him” within six rounds.

The rivals also clashed over Wardley’s recent win against Nathan Gorman. Adeleye claimed Gorman hurt Wardley, something he fiercely denied. Wardley predicted an early stoppage but Adeleye bit back, warning “What’s gonna happen when I actually hurt you?”

With fight night fast approaching, the trash talk suggests this main support bout may steal the show on the night before Fury collides with Ngannou in the Middle East.
