January 17, (THEWILL) – Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic, scored two sensational goals to lead his side to a 3-0 home victory over Sassuolo on Tuesday night. The result moves Juventus to within two points of Serie A leaders, Inter Milan, setting up a thrilling title race for the rest of the season.

Vlahovic gave Juventus the lead in the 15th minute with a dipping long-range strike. He doubled his side’s advantage right before half-time when by dispatching a pinpoint free kick beyond the reach of Sassuolo’s goalkeeper. Federico Chiesa added a late third in the 89th minute to seal an important victory.

The win extends Juventus’ winning streak to six across all competitions. It also piles pressure on rivals Inter Milan, who face Lazio in the Italian Super Cup semi-finals on Thursday. Inter will not resume league play until late February due to their Super Cup commitments.

When Serie A action returns, Inter face a daunting trip to Fiorentina at the end of January. Still, the key match looks to be the top-of-the-table clash between Inter and Juventus at the San Siro in early February. With Juventus looking extremely solid defensively while churning out victories, that contest could decide the destination of the Scudetto this term.
