September 21, (THEWILL) – Aston Villa continued their strong English Premier League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Wolves at Villa Park. The home side overcame a first-half deficit to claim three points and move into third place on the table.

Wolves dominated the opening 45 minutes and took a deserved lead through Matheus Cunha. However, Villa responded after the break, echoing their comeback against Everton the previous week.

Ollie Watkins equalised for Villa before Ezri Konsa put them ahead with a well-taken finish in the 88th minute. Jhon Duran added a third in injury time to seal the win for Unai Emery’s team.

The result leaves Villa on 12 points from their first five matches of the 2024/2025 season. Wolves, meanwhile, find themselves at the bottom of the league with just one point. Gary O’Neil’s side also suffered a setback when Yerson Mosquera was forced off with a head injury.

Villa’s strong start to the season has raised expectations among supporters. Their ability to fight back from losing positions has been particularly impressive, with this match following a similar pattern to their victory over Everton last week.
