November 12, (THEWILL) – Aston Villa registered their 13th consecutive Premier League home win, equalling the club’s post-war record, with a 3-1 victory over Fulham at Villa Park on Sunday.
Villa led 2-0 at half-time, thanks to an own goal from Fulham’s Antonee Robinson and a strike from skipper John McGinn. Fulham came close to pulling one back early in the second half when Emiliano Martinez tipped Raul Jimenez’s shot onto the post.
However, Villa extended their lead to 3-0 in the 64th minute through a composed finish from Ollie Watkins. Jimenez grabbed a late consolation goal for the visitors, but it was too little too late as Villa held on for the three points.

The result means Unai Emery’s side have now scored at least three goals in each of their last six home league games this season, amassing 23 goals at Villa Park.
It was a return to winning ways after last weekend’s 2-0 loss away at Nottingham Forest. Fulham’s winless league run extended to four matches, leaving them 16th in the table. Villa are now fifth, just a point outside the top four.
