August 25, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid claimed their first La Liga victory of the 2024 season with a 3-0 win against Real Valladolid at Santiago Bernabeu. The match remained goalless until the second half when Federico Valverde broke the deadlock with a powerful free-kick from 25 yards out.
Brahim Diaz extended the lead in the 88th minute, capitalising on a long ball from Eder Militao. The final goal came from 18-year-old Endrick, who scored on his La Liga debut after coming on as a late substitute.
Endrick’s goal made him the youngest Madrid player to score on his League debut in the 21st century and the first foreign player to do so. Diaz also had a notable performance, scoring and assisting in the same match as a substitute for the first time in his career across Europe’s top five leagues.
The victory continues Real Madrid’s strong record against Valladolid, with six consecutive league wins without conceding. Valladolid, on the other hand, have now lost their last four trips to Madrid, their longest such run since November 2012.
Despite a lacklustre first-half display, Carlo Ancelotti’s side found their rhythm in the second half to claim all three points. The win puts Real Madrid in a strong position as they look to defend their La Liga title.
