September 06, (THEWILL) – American rapper, Dequantes Devontay Lamar, aka Rich Homie Quan, who charted the Billboard Hot 100 with songs like “Type of Way” and “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)”, is dead.
He died on Thursday, at the age of 34 at his home in Atlanta, according to his family and a representative for the Fulton County morgue.
The cause of the untimely death has not been established.
The rapper was due to perform in his hometown in a few weeks at Nick Cannon’s ‘Wild N Out’ alongside the likes of Wacka Flocka and Nardo Wick.
He started his career in 2011 and saw mainstream success with one of his songs reaching No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.
