BEVERLY HILLS, July 24, (THEWILL) – The convoy of Senate President Bukola Saraki as been allowed to proceed to the National Assembly premises.
Earlier, THEWILL had reported that Saraki’s convoy was blocked by security operatives in what was said to be a ploy to prevent mass defections by aggrieved lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The convoy had taken off at about 7am
from his residence at Lake Chad Crescent in Maitama, Abuja
but was delayed by the Police until 7.30am.
When the convoy was cleared to go, some police vehicles trailed it up to the National Assembly complex.
It was gathered that the police team had acted on some clues that Saraki might not meet with detectives today having criticized his invitation on Monday night as a ploy.
Meanwhile, officials of the Directorate of State Security (DSS) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday morning also laid siege to the residence of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Abuja.
