Unlike Our Opposition Expect Decent Celebration If Gawuna Wins At Supreme Court – Former SAs

December 31, (THEWILL) – The Forum of former Special Advisers in the immediate past APC administration in Kano State, says supporters of the party would celebrate decently, devoid of any rancour, if the Supreme Court declares the party’s candidate, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, winner of the 2023 governorship election.

The Supreme Court had reserved judgement in the Appeal filed by Governor Abba Yusuf against the verdict of the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal, which all voided his election and declared Gawuna as winner of the governorship poll.

Addressing a news conference at the NUJ Press Centre, Kano, on Sunday, the Forum, under the Chairmanship of Dr Abbati Bako, said the APC faithful would celebrate “the expected victory” at the Apex Court in a disciplined and organised manner without any threat or intimidation to anybody.

“Unlike our counterparts in the opposition, we will celebrate our expected victory at the Supreme Court devoid of any acrimony, rancour or any acts that could threaten lives and property in the state.

“We hope and pray that the Supreme Court will deliver judgement in our favour, God willing, because we believe we have proved our case before it.

“Our hope is also strengthened by our victory both at the Tribunal and the Court of Appeal which declared Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna as the authentic winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state”, the group said.

The Forum then expressed solidarity with the Acting National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and also commended him for his impressive performance in piloting the affairs of the party.

“We also want to register our appreciation and gratitude to the state party Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas and other members of the party for their continued support to ensure the success of the APC throughout the trying period”, the Forum added.
