United Nigeria Begins Regular Flights To Owerri

BEVERLY HILLS, April 08, (THEWILL) – As part of its expansion plans, one of the newest entrants into Nigeria’s aviation sector, United Nigeria Airlines, says it will commence scheduled flight operations to the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport (SMICA) on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

Head, Corporate Communications, United Airlines, Achilleus-Chud Uchegbu, who disclosed the new route, hinted that the inaugural Owerri flight will depart the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MM2) in Ikeja, Lagos at 7.00am and terminate at SMICA.

According to Uchegbu, the flight would depart SMICA for MM2 at 11:30am.

He said: “The airline will depart SMICA at 8:30am for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja. Also, United Nigeria Airlines will depart Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja for SMICA at 10:00am.”

The airline maintained that such movements would remain a regular schedule for United Nigeria Airlines on the Owerri route.

United Nigeria Airlines had on 12th February commenced flight operations, starting with inaugural trips on the Lagos, Enugu, Abuja routes.

The airline operated the inaugural flight after the issuance of an Air Operators Certificate (AOC) by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) having fulfilled all mandatory regulatory requirements.
