Uduaghan Mourns Ogbemudia

BEVERLY HILLS, March 10, (THEWILL) – The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan on Friday described the passing away of Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia as a personal loss, considering their father-son relationship from the very early beginning.

Uduaghan while reacting to the death of the former governor of old Bendel State, said Ogbemudia was more than a mentor to him while he straddled the affairs of Delta State as Governor, saying, “He was a father figure at times of crisis. His advice and admonitions were invaluable. And of course, one tried to emulate him in so many ways.

“Pa Ogbemudia made indelible marks in the old Bendel state, now Edo/Delta states. We are forever grateful to him for his giant strides in helping to lay the foundation for the even development of our good, old Midwest state. As military and later civilian governor, he left no one in doubt that he was an astute administrator who exhibited the kind of courage only leaders who crave the welfare of citizens have.

“I am personally grieved by his death, I will miss him. But I thank God that I was fortunate to have crossed his path and drank from his wealth of wisdom. My condolences go to his immediate family and all the people of the old Bendel State who benefitted in various ways during his time as governor and even after he left office to engage in national politics.

“I pray for the repose of his kind and gentle soul,” read a statement signed by Uduaghan’s media aide, Sunny Areh.
