Uduaghan Condoles Vanguard Over Arts Editor’s Death

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, October 09, (THEWILL) –  Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan has expressed sympathy with the publisher and management of Vanguard Newspapers on the death of its Arts Editor, McPhilips Nwachukwu.

Uduaghan, in a statement by Felix Ofou, his press secretary, also expressed condolences with arts journalists and the Nigerian arts community on the death of one of their prominent member.

The governor described the late McPhilips as “a great lover of arts, a distinguished poet and literary enthusiast” whose contributions to the arts community and the journalism profession will be greatly missed.

He however urged the publisher of Vanguard, Pa Sam Amuka, the editors and entire staff of the newspaper to take solace in the fact that the late McPhilips has United with other saints in the worship of the creator of the universe.

“I know the first thought that will be on their minds is why McPhilips should go at this time. But I urge Uncle Sam, the editors and entire staff to accept the fact that the deceased is now in the bosom of the Lord, united with other saints triumphant in the worship of God Almighty, the creator of the universe”, he stated.

Governor Uduaghan nonetheless prayed God to grant the widow of the late journalist, his only child, Vanguard and the entire arts world the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
