UAES Vice-Chancellor Lauds Uzodimma On Landmark Achievements

February 02, (THEWILL) – Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has been lauded for his landmark achievements since his inception of office three years ago.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Umuagwo, Prof. Christopher Chiedozie Eze, showered this encomium on the Governor while addressing a group of Journalists that paid him a courtesy visit in his office, on Thursday.

Eze, A Professor of Agricultural Economics, recalled that even when the Governor was in the National Assembly as a Senator, he secured jobs for people of the state in many Federal Government establishments.

He said, “People were employed in the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Immigration Service and others. Not only that, He attracted the construction of dilapidated roads in the State during his representation as a Senator for Orlu zone,” he stated.

Eze, therefore, thanked Governor Uzodimma for finding him worthy to head the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo, pledging to work hard as Vice Chancellor of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor thanked the group for visiting him, adding that they have the determination and zeal to work. He revealed that the institution is donating food plants to the general public, saying they are open to public partnership.

Earlier in his speech, The Chairman,

Mbano Journalists Association, MJA, Comrade Kelechi Uzoma, said that they came to thank him for all he has done in the academic world and particularly, as Vice-Chancellor.

Uzomah noted that the association had been in existence for the past ten years. “We had met and interacted with our brothers and sisters from Okigwe zone, emphasising that it was formed for the unity of people of the area.

“Vice Chancellor, Sir, this association has been watching you; even though you were the Deputy Registrar of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), we noticed you have made a positive impact in the academic community.”

Uzomah continued, “We have come to partner with you, and ensure we project the institution through our various mediums,” he assured.

In her vote of thanks, the Librarian of the University, Prof Chidi Nwosu, thanked the group for coming, urging the association to relay their appreciation to the Governor.

She urged the group to always report objectively and always get back to them on the issues concerning the university.

Also, Registrar of the University, Prince Edward Njemanze, was present during the courtesy call by the association.
