A source in the area said the attackers stormed the facility at Magama/Hirji junction along Katsina/Jibia road on Monday, and opened fire at the officers on duty.
While one of the attackers was shot dead, two police officers, however, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident, said the situation is under control.
