September 06, (THEWILL) — The Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Dr Umar Tanko Yakasai, has commended President Bola Tinubu for “saving Nigeria from economic collapse”.
Yakasai made the commendation at the official inauguration of the National Structure and State Chapters’ Executive Committee members of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Saturday.

“He took over a shattered and battered economy, turned it around and stabilised it. Our foreign reserves have hit over $53 billion from net $3.89 billion, inflation down to 15.43 from over 34 percent, GDP has grown to 4.43 percent in the 2nd quarter of 2026 with a nominal GDP of ₦119.27 trillion.

He stated that the massive turnout at the occasion indicated the tremendous support the people of Kano State and members of the various support groups under the Tinubu Support Group have for President Bola Tinubu.
In his remarks, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf urged the people of the State to come out en masse to vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections to enable him to secure a second term in office.

Yusuf also urged them to vote for him for a second term in office and do the same for other candidates on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, such as those vying for the Senatorial, House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly seats.
“Kano State is for APC, and this mammoth crowd testifies to this fact, and as such, the people of the state will massively vote for President Bola Tinubu and all other candidates in the state contesting for the Governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly positions during the 2027 general elections”, the governor stated.
He assured the people of the state, especially the youth, of his administration’s determination to continue to provide the dividends of democracy, including economic empowerment, infrastructure, health care, potable water and agriculture development.
He commended the Tinubu Support Group for organising the inauguration in Kano State, which he described as the stronghold of the APC.
The event also witnessed the reception into the APC of thousands of decampees who defected from the NDC, PDP and the NNPP.
They included former Senator Kabiru Gaya, incumbent Senator representing Kano Central, Rufa’i Hanga, Ali Datti Yako, Yusuf Bello Dambatta, and Baraka Sani.
They were received into the ruling party by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda Nentawe, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, the immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and several other APC bigwigs.
