Troost-Ekong Scores As Watford Beat Luton 4-Nil

October 23, (THEWILL) – William Troost-Ekong, the vice-captain of the Super Eagles, scored Watford’s second goal in the Hornets’ 4-0 victory over Luton Town in a Championship game on Sunday at Vicarage Road.

Following Kevin Davis’ goal for the hosts in the opening minute of the game, Troost-Ekong extended Watford’s lead just before the break. Joao Pedro and Ismaila Sarr added two more goals in the second half to give Slaven Bilic’s team an easy victory.

The Nigerian defender’s goal was his second for the Golden Boys and first for Watford in almost two years. On November 7, 2020, also in the Championship, the Hornets defeated Coventry City 3-2 thanks to Troost-first-ever Ekong’s goal for the team.

Samuel Kalu and Maduka Okoye, two international colleagues of the Super Eagles’ vice captain, watched the action from the substitutes’ bench as William Troost-Ekong played the entire 90 minutes of the Luton fixture.

Watford’s victory moves the Golden Boys into the top half of the Championship table with six wins, five draws, and five losses from their 16 games so far this season.
