To this, she encouraged African nations to explore Tanzania’s potential across various sectors and contribute to the region’s economic growth.
Speaking at the 20th Akwaaba African Travel Market in Lagos, Mshana highlighted Tanzania’s abundant tourism resources, which can significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Mshana applauded the organisers of Akwaaba for being a powerful platform for uniting African countries and connecting travel operators and service providers.
She noted that the business-to-business (B2B) sessions at the event were highly productive, allowing participants to discuss essential logistics like visas, flights and costs, facilitating smoother cross-border collaboration for tourism and investment.
She encouraged further exploration of Tanzania’s tourism opportunities, specifically in areas like Zanzibar, where both business and tourism activities can flourish. Mshana also expressed her desire for more Tanzanians to engage in the Akwaaba events in Nigeria and advocate for easing visa processes and opening borders to boost inter-African tourism and trade.
In terms of investment potential, she pointed out that Tanzania still needs more recreational facilities, such as shopping centres, apartments and family-friendly venues, which present lucrative opportunities for investors.
However, Mshana also commended the Akwaaba team for their commitment to promoting African unity and noted her intention to continue participating in future events to strengthen business ties.
