Traders Groan As Goods, Properties Worth Millions Go Up In Flames At Ladipo Market

February 26, (THEWILL) – A section of the Ladipo Spare Parts market in Mushin, Lagos, has been engulfed by fire.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, razed some buildings, destroying goods worth millions of naira at a section of the market called Aguiyi Ironsi International Trade Centre, Paramo.

Multiple sources confirmed that the fire started around 1:00 am, but the cause is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

President-General, Ladipo Central Executive Auto Dealers Association (LCEADA), Jude Nwankwo, in a Facebook live post, called for support and prayers.

“I’m reporting live at the scene, this is Ladipo President speaking, I don’t know what the cause of this fire is, all the time, we need your intervention. Ladipo is on fire. God should come in and rescue us”, Nwankwo lamented.

No casualty has been recorded so far, but several accessories, items worth millions of naira have been gutted by fire.

Emergency responders comprising LASEMA Response Team, (LRT), LASEMA Response Unit Fire, (LRU fire), Lagos State and Federal Fire services were also at the scene to subdue the inferno.
