Tinubu Visits Counter Terrorism Centre

June 05, (THEWILL) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, visited the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Abuja.

THEWILL reports that the visit was the first by the President outside the State House after inauguration on May 29.

The President was received by the NSA, Major General Mohammed B. Monguno (rtd) and other top Officals at the NCTC.

Receiving the President, Monguno said Tinubu’s coming to the ONSA for his first engagement outside the Presidential Villa shows his total commitment to the security of Nigerians.

Monguno also showed the President around the Centre.

The Counter Terrorism Centre is staffed by experienced officers from government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

It houses the Joint Terrorism Analysis Branch, National Counter Terrorism Strategy, Explosive Devices Analysis Office and the Preventing Countering Violent Extremism Unit, which coordinates the implementation of Nigeria’s Policy Framework and National Action Plan for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.

The NCTC is headed by a Coordinator, Rear Admiral Yaminu Musa (rtd).
