October 17, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, asked the Senate to screen and confirm Ola Olukoyede and Muhammad Hammajoda, for appointment as chairman and secretary respectively of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The request was conveyed in a letter read at plenary by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
THEWILL reported that President Tinubu, on Thursday, October 12, appointed Olukoyede and Hammajoda, as the new EFCC Chairman and Secretary respectively, for a renewable term of four years in the first instance, pending Senate confirmation.
If confirmed, Olukoyede would succeed Abdulrasheed Bawa as EFCC Boss, making him first Southerner to chair the anti-graft agency.
