Tiger Woods Inducted Into Golf Hall Of Fame

March 10, (THEWILL) – On Wednesday night, Tiger Woods, was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame alongside other inductees for this year: Susie Maxwell Berning, Tim Finchem, and Marion Hollins.

At the induction ceremony in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Woods’ daughter, Sam, gave an introduction to the golfer while beaming with pride.

In his induction speech, Woods summed up the mindset that brought him to such an honourable position: “I was never going to be denied to play. I had this burning desire to express myself in the game of golf.”

The 46-year-old is the PGA Tour’s all-time leader in wins (82). He has 15 major titles, second only to Jack Nicklaus (18) for the most in his career. Woods is a two-time PLAYERS Championship winner, a two-time FedEx Cup champion, and has played on eight Ryder Cup and nine Presidents Cup squads for Team USA.

In addition to his victories, Woods held a number of professional golf records. He also won the PGA Tour Player of the Year award 11 times and has been ranked number one in the world for 683 weeks.

At the Genesis Invitational, Woods stated that he will not be returning to the PGA Tour full-time. As he recovers from injuries sustained in a single-car accident in 2021, he has no idea when he will return to professional golf.
