BEVERLY HILLS, October 5, (THEWILL) – With a few hours to the close of the transfer window, reports monitored by THEWILL Monday can confirm that the long-expected move of Ghanaian international Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid in the La Liga to the English Premier League side Arsenal FC is on course and would be sealed in hours.
Arsenal have triggered Partey’s release clause and it has been confirmed by the La Liga management. With the information having been passed to Atletico, the midfielder was flown to London to sign the dotted lines. He will pen a contract that will keep his services in North London until June 2025. Medicals are said to be ongoing as the Gunners secured his services for €50 million.
Going in the opposite direction on loan is Arsenal’s Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira. Atletico will soon announce him as their player after medicals were concluded a few days ago.
