March 05, (THEWILL) – Manchester United Manager, Erik ten Hag, has been full of praise for Casemiro for his contributions to the current success of Manchester United.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the club from Real Madrid in the summer and has made an immediate impact both on and off the pitch. Speaking of the leadership qualities that Casemiro brings to the squad, as well as his technical ability, Ten Hag said: “Casemiro is such a leader and so important for us.
“Not only with his performances and skills, like scoring goals with his headers, or linking up, or intercepting balls, but also his organisation, his mentality, the culture he projects. We are so happy that we signed him.”
Ten Hag went on to explain that the team had been looking for players with strong character and leadership qualities when they made their signings in the summer.
Casemiro has been a key part of the team’s resurgence under Ten Hag, who was appointed at the end of a difficult 2021/2022 campaign. The team struggled in the early stages of the current season, losing to Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford in the opening two English Premier League games.
However, the manager’s focus on discipline and character appears to be paying off, with Manchester United currently sitting in third place in the EPL. With Casemiro’s continued contributions, the team will be hoping to mount a serious challenge for the title this season after picking the EFL Cup and still in the running for the Europa League title.
