September 22, (THEWILL) – The English Premier League has nominated Erik ten Hag for the Manager of the Month award for September, his first such nomination since moving to the EPL from the Eredivisie.
With two victories in two games this month ahead of the international break, Manchester United’s form improvement has continued. Ten Hag is up against Bournemouth interim manager Gary O’Neil and Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte.
After losing 9-0 to Liverpool last month, which resulted in the resignation of Scott Parker, O’Neill helped Bournemouth go undefeated in their three games this month, earning five points in the process.
Tottenham matched their best-ever start to a Premier League season in September by earning a maximum of six points, similar to Ten Hag’s United, and they left Leicester in tatters with a 6-2 mauling that featured a Son Heung-min 13-minute hattrick.
The winner of the award, including the Player of the Month, will be revealed by the league in the week ahead.
