Ten Hag Boosted By Triple Injury Return For Liverpool Cup Clash

March 15, (THEWILL)- Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is set to welcome back three key players for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final showdown against Liverpool at Old Trafford. Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have recovered from injuries and are expected to be available for selection.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Dutchman provided a positive update on the trio’s fitness. “We had a good week. Today we had a session and they were all training,” he said. Ten Hag anticipates having them at his disposal, barring any setbacks in the final training session.

The United boss also revealed that midfielder Mason Mount has stepped up his recovery from a long-term calf issue. “It was very good Mason Mount trained also the whole week with us,” he stated, suggesting the England international could soon return to action.

However, United will still be without several injured players for the high-stakes clash against their rivals, including Lisandro Martinez, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Jonny Evans has also been managing a minor problem, leading to his omission from the Northern Ireland squad.

Despite his side’s struggles this season, Ten Hag believes his players can take confidence from their recent good form, urging them to “believe they can do it” against Jurgen Klopp’s in-form Liverpool team. He also dismissed speculation linking Marcus Rashford with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
