Taraba Speaker Kunini Denies Withdrawal From Guber Race

May 25, (THEWILL) – The Speaker of the Taraba state House of Assembly, Prof Joseph Albasu Kunini, has refuted rumours suggesting that he has withdrawn from the gubernatorial race.

This is contained in a press release signed by the Speaker’s Chief of Staff, Bakoji Sukuji, on Wednesday and made available to press men in Jalingo.

According to the statement, the rumour is being orchestrated and peddled by the Speaker’s traducers and adversaries. Hence, must be ignored.

“The Speaker is still in the governorship race. He is an astute politician, brilliant accountant, financial expert, quintessential legislator, boardroom technocrat, philanthropist par excellence and above all, a visionary and valiant leader, all rolled into one.

“What’s even more, he possesses the pedigree, intellectual capacity and impeccable leadership qualities to consolidate and solidify the giant strides and infrastructural revolution of His Excellency, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, the Captain of the Rescue Mission.

“His vision is to provide good governance to the people, by creating an enabling environment that guarantees security, promotes socio-economic development through partnership and collaboration.

“His mission is to transform Taraba State from rural to model State and launch it to one of the top ten economies in the federation, as well as ensure peace and security, by building a united and peaceful State based on equity and mutual respect for all the citizens, irrespective of tribe, religion and status.

“His manifesto, tagged; THE ALKINJOH REVOLUTIONARY MANIFESTO, is a social charter which contains different sectors of the economy and possible solutions that underpin the wellbeing and welfare of Tarabans.

“The Speaker, therefore, enjoins his teeming supporters, admirers and well wishers to ignore the rumour of his purported withdrawal from the governorship race in the State.”
