Dangote Petroleum Refinery and several petroleum marketers have reduced petrol prices at major depots following a decline in international crude oil prices.

The clarification came amid growing concerns over the recent increase in petrol prices and its impact on households, transport operators and businesses across the country.

The acting General Secretary of the NLC, Benson Upah, said the latest increase would further worsen the economic pressure facing workers and low-income households already struggling with high transportation, food and living costs.

The proposed measure could take effect as early as this week, subject to further consultations and possible intervention, according to sources familiar with the refinery’s position.
