The Presidency has clarified Governor Seyi Makinde’s claim that the Federal Government is withholding N250 billion in NLNG dividends for each state of the federation, saying his view is false.

At the centre of the escalating dispute is Makinde's claim that each state was expecting ₦250 billion from NLNG dividends but that the Federal Government had decided to withhold the money until after the 2027 general election — an allegation the Presidency says “defies basic logic and economic reality.”
