NLC President, Joe Ajaero, stated this in a statement issued on Sunday, amid growing concerns over the proposed concession and the future management of the prestigious secondary school.

The Federal Government has reassured Nigerians that King’s College, Lagos, has not been sold or privatised, stressing that the prestigious institution remains a publicly owned national school.

The parents, who gathered in large numbers in Lagos, carried placards bearing inscriptions: “King’s College is not for sale” and “Federal Government, we say no to concession”, as they opposed what they described as an attempt to transfer control of the 116-year-old institution to its old students’ association.
