Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has rejected the bribery and corruption findings contained in the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) award on the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project dispute.

The ruling represents a significant legal victory for Nigeria in a dispute that has stretched across successive administrations and has been linked to the stalled development of the multibillion-dollar Mambilla hydroelectric project in Taraba State.

According to the Federal Government, ICC Pre-Trial Chamber II dismissed the request on September 1, 2026, after determining that it was not properly before the Court and lacked a legal basis.
