The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cleared the way for Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim of the Accord Party to contest the 2027 presidential election, bringing the number of candidates in the race to 19.
Justice Mohammed Umar, in a judgement delivered on Monday, held that there was sufficient evidence before the court showing that Olawepo-Hashim emerged as the party’s sole presidential candidate at a primary election conducted on May 30, 2026.
