The gathering was witnessed by APC members from all the wards of Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State, who said they were out to pay back for the humanitarian and philanthropic gestures of Dr Oluwole.

A notable businesswoman and politician in Ikere, Princess Bukola Olonade, also said the outing was a mark to proof to naysayers that the APC in Ekiti is still relevant and would retain the seat of governance in the state come next year.

According to her; “the people of Ekiti and indeed Ikere are ready for the coming elections which primary is scheduled to hold in January 2022. We are out in numbers to show our leaders in SWAGA, in practical terms, that we are on ground and that the masses are still with us, despite some obvious leadership inadequacies in the APC.”

The SWAGA leadership began a town hall meeting in the 16 local councils on Monday with a visit to four councils each day.

At each of the councils, leaders of the group took turn to assure members that the future promises pleasantries that will further shore up the fortune of the party and by extension offer better life for the people.

The leaders told members to remain unwavering in the resolve to ensure that the next governor of the state emerge from SWAGA and that Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, the man the group centres around, is given the needed vote support to make him the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, come 2023.

At the town hall meeting, which almost donned the toga of a rally, members bared their minds to the leaders and urged them to decide on who will lead the group into the coming governorship election amicably.

They noted that SWAGA members are daily gaining strength across party lines in the state and would not want any act of selfishness to rock that solid boat.

The leaders assured the members of commitment and an amicable resolve on who leads the group into the gubernatorial election, even as they urged the members not to fall victim of series of propaganda and inducements flying around.
