February 15, (THEWILL) – Barcelona’s Asisat Oshoala will not feature in the Super Falcons’ opening match of the inaugural Revelation Cup against Mexico, according to reports monitored by THEWILL.
Nigeria’s national team will be looking to boost their team chemistry and cohesion as well as record some much-needed victories ahead of the Women’s World Cup in July, in Australia and New Zealand.
The Super Falcons, who are nine-time African champions, will face Colombia and Costa Rica, after their game against Mexico. Head Coach Randy Waldrum had invited 23 players for the tournament, but only 22 have shown up so far. Oshoala, who has scored 15 goals in her last ten games, has yet to report to the camp.
The Nigerian team will be hoping that their star striker arrives in camp soon so she can play in their last two games. The Revelation Cup is a warm-up competition for the Women’s World Cup, and the Super Falcons will be looking to get some much-needed practice in before the tournament begins.
