BEVERLY HILLS, July 07, (THEWILL) – Former Jigawa State Governor, Mr. Sule Lamido, and his two sons have been arrested by the EFCC in Abuja on allegations of graft.
THEWILL gathered that the trio have been transported to Kano where they are expected to be arraigned before a federal high court.
The EFCC opened investigations into allegations of fraud against the former governor and his sons, Aminu and Mustapha, while he was still in office but could not arrest him because he had immunity against arrest.
However, before Tuesday’s arrest, the commission had questioned the governor and his sons at its Abuja headquarters some days back and admitted them to administrative bail.
The former governor is alleged to have stolen at least N10 billion from Jigawa State government treasury using companies linked to his two sons.
