BEVERLY HILLS, July 13, (THEWILL) – It was a mission gone awry Monday as a suicide bomber on a deadly mission to Maiduguri rocked a checkpoint, killing himself rather than being arrested and injured four others in the process.
A local vigilante member, Abba Ibrahim, who disclosed this THEWILL, said trouble started for the bomber when he joined a taxi cab going to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, Maiduguri from either Mainok or Benesheik.
The driver, on suspecting that his new passenger might be a terrorist, played a fast one by quickly informing a vigilante group at a checkpoint in Njimtilo near Maiduguri while pretending to ease himself.
On suspecting that he would be arrested, he simply detonated the explosives on him, killing himself and injuring two women who were in the taxi as well as two local vigilante members.
