April 20, (THEWILL) — Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc has reported a strong financial performance for the 2025 financial year, with profit before tax rising sharply to ₦551.7 billion from ₦303.7 billion recorded in 2024.

The growth was largely driven by robust revenue expansion, particularly from interest income, which increased by 38.94 percent year-on-year to ₦787.05 billion. Loans and advances to customers accounted for the bulk of this figure, contributing ₦473.2 billion, while investment income added ₦285.1 billion.

Net interest income climbed to ₦585 billion, up 42.53 percent, despite a 29.51 percent rise in interest expenses to ₦202.04 billion. Non-interest income also strengthened, with fees and commissions rising to ₦257.7 billion from ₦186.4 billion, while trading revenue grew to ₦76.9 billion.

Customer deposits surged significantly to ₦4.3 trillion from ₦3 trillion in the previous year, reflecting improved customer confidence and balance sheet expansion. Total assets rose to ₦8.6 trillion, while loans and advances increased to ₦3.8 trillion.

Operating income grew by 38.48 per cent to ₦895.7 billion, while impairment charges dropped sharply to ₦14.2 billion from ₦99.3 billion, supporting overall profitability. However, operating expenses increased to ₦329.7 billion, driven mainly by higher staff and administrative costs.

After tax, profit stood at ₦380.7 billion, up 69 percent, with earnings per share rising to ₦23.68.

The group declared a final dividend of ₦4 per share, bringing the total dividend for 2025 to ₦6.50 per share, payable on May 26, 2026, an increase from ₦5.00 paid in 2024.
