DSS Retires Former Spokesperson, Ogar, Others

BEVERLY HILLS, September 03, (THEWILL) – The Department of State Services (DSS) has retired Ms. Marilyn Ogar, its popular former spokesperson and at least 44 top directors.

Their forced retirement according to sources was approved Wednesday by the Director General of the agency.

Most of the affected directors were those close to former Director-General, Ita Ekpeyong, who was forced out when President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office.

Their forced exit is being viewed as a witch-hunt following the faceoff between the DSS under Ekpeyong and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the run up to the general elections over alleged cloned INEC voting cards.

Ogar vehemently justified and defended the agency in the media against attacks by the APC.

Before their sack, the new DSS Director General had demoted them from their Director rank to Assistant Director.
