September 10, (THEWILL) – Ahead of the resumption of English Premier League football this weekend, Nuno Espirito Santo, Tottenham Hotspur manager, has a reason to celebrate before his charges make the trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace on Saturday, after being named Manager of the Month for August.

As manager of the last remaining side with a perfect record of victories in the three-match old 2021/2022 campaign, Nuno was announced as the winner in an easily predictable win for the coach, who moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford before the season began.

Although there were only three matches in the month with the resumption of the EPL, Nuno’s Spurs did not just win all three, they have yet to concede a goal so far. This was even though they began the season against reigning England champions Manchester City, whom they defeated 1-0 to kick off their good run.

Going into matchweek 4, therefore, Tottenham are deservedly at the EPL standings summit as one of three London clubs leading the rest of the League. Behind them are West Ham and Chelsea, who both have the same seven points after three matches as Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton.

The award will be the fourth for Nuno, who will be looking forward to seeing the Lilywhites continue their strong start to the league with a win on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

Having been named Manager of the Month thrice at the Molineux with Wolves, he has now tied Mauricio Pochettino for a number of awards, in a weird coincidence as Pochettino was at Spurs before his current job at Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
