February 08, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, has returned to the UK after undergoing gallbladder surgery in Italy.
As THEWILL reported, Conte was diagnosed with cholecystitis, a condition that causes inflammation of the gallbladder, and underwent the procedure last week in Turin, where his family resides. The Spurs boss was able to quickly inform fans of the successful surgery and has remained in touch with his team throughout his time off.
Despite his recent surgery, there remains hope that Conte will be with the squad for their upcoming English Premier League match against Leicester on Saturday. In his absence, assistant coach Cristian Stellini has been in charge. The team has won their last two Premier League games, bringing them within a point of the top four.
After the Leicester match, Conte and the team will travel to Italy to take on AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie. With Conte’s return and the team’s recent victories, the Spurs are poised for a strong performance in their upcoming matches.
