Spanish Football Community Mourns Loss Of Young Nigerian Footballer Hadi

February 06, (THEWILL) – A young Nigerian footballer, Ado Bala Hadi, playing for CD Madridejos in the Spanish Terceira division, tragically collapsed and died during a home match against SP Cabanillas on Sunday.

According to the Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation, Hadi fell without any apparent reason in the 39th minute of the match and was attended to by medical personnel, but unfortunately could not be revived.

The Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation expressed its sadness at the event and offered its support to CD Madridejos during this difficult time. Their statement read: “The Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation and Castilian-La Mancha football, with its President, Pablo Burillo, at the helm, are totally dismayed at such an event. For this reason, the federative body remains at the disposal of CD Madridejos for everything it needs in these difficult times.”

Hadi was one of four Nigerian players on the club’s roster including former U17 and U20 striker, Kehinde Ayinde. The sudden loss of Hadi came as a shock to the football community and the thoughts and condolences of the Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation and the entire football world have been sent to his family, friends, and teammates.

The 21-year-old previously played in Nigeria with Jigawa Golden Stars. CD Madridejos, founded in 1968, plays in Tercera División Group 18 and is based in Madridejos, Castile-La Mancha, with its home ground being Nuevo Estadio, which has a 2,000-seat capacity.
