SAN FRANCISCO, April 11, (THEWILL) – The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Monday revealed that six primary school teachers died in a road accident on Dutsinma- Katsina road.
According to Alhaji Abdu Bagadawa, the FRSC Sector Commander, the accident victims were from Danmusa local government area of Katsina state.
He stated that the accident, which involved 12 passengers, claimed the lives of six on the spot adding that five people sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to Dutsinma General Hospital.
He said the other passenger was taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, for treatment.
Bagadawa stated that the incident, which involved a Sharon mini-bus with registration number, XA241KTN, was caused by over speeding.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the teachers were on their way to Katsina to withdraw their salaries when the accident occurred.
The sector commander urged motorists to always abide by traffic rules and regulations as part of measures to reduce road accidents.
