Sen Yusuf A Yusuf, an aspirant, who spoke to journalists on behalf of the other aspirants, Chief David Sabo Kente, Engr. Saleh Mamman, Dr Anthony Manzo, Hon Danladi Kifasi, Prof Muhammed Yahaya, who were also present, said they are united to ensure that the right thing is done for the good of the party and the majority of the APC people in Taraba.

“We are surprised at what has happened, there was no election yesterday. You were all there when the Chairman of the Electoral Committee said there was no election in the state because he has not authorised any election.”

Only for him to announce results at the airport.

“We hold the leadership of APC accountable for any fall out of APC here in Taraba state. We are doing what we can to address the anomaly and we will not be held responsible.”

“We reaffirm that there was no election, there was no approval for any election and there was no duress whatsoever, because we were at the headquarters when he announced that there was no election. ”

“The six of us are here in unity to inform you that due process of the law will be followed, according to the rules of the party and also according to the electoral act of 2022.”

The six aspirants also stated that if the party does nothing to salvage the situation and ensure that the right thing is done, they will have no choice, but to explore other means of solving their problems.

“Having said so, we want to use all avenues as loyal members of the party to make this right. However, if the leadership of the APC in Abuja are not ready to accommodate the interest of the majority of the people of APC in Taraba, we will take up other means of solving our problems.”

“For now, we will leave them to solve this problem, what we want is to protect the interest of the people of APC in Taraba state.”

Recall that the Chairman of the electoral Committee declared Sen Emmanuel Bwacha flag bearer of the party’s ticket on Friday morning, countering his previous stand that there was no election. Lawrence explained that he made the previous briefing under duress.
