August 09, (THEWILL) – A show promoter, Steven Uwah, has opened up about the controversy surrounding Daniel Anidugbe, aka Kizz Daniel’s failure to perform in Tanzania.

The singer was to perform at a concert at the Warehouse, Old Nextdoor Arena, Tanzania, on Sunday, but failed to show up.

Aggrieved fans reacted negatively to the act because they paid a fortune to watch his live performance.

The singer was arrested on Monday, by Tanzanian police force, but was later released.

In a live chat with media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, Uwah revealed that he paid Kizz Daniel $60,000 to perform at the launch of his mobile App, which he designed for booking events.

Kizz Daniel refused to honour the contract after he claimed his luggage was yet to arrive from Uganda, where he performed a day before.

According to Uwah, the singer refused to show up because he didn’t have his chains and clothes.

Steven added that in an effort to remedy the situation, he brought Tanzanian superstar, Harmonize and some stylists to try and sort out Kizz Daniel’s wardrobe, but the superstar still refused to perform.

Steven further stated that Fly Boy label Chief, Paul Okoye, called from the US to plead with the singer to perform and he also went as far as going on his knees to plead. However, their plea fell on deaf ears.

According to the promoter, the show cost him $300,000 with reputable brands like Pepsi and Martell sponsoring the show. A table was sold for as high as $10,000. He added that Kizz Daniel’s actions have set him at a loss and greatly damaged his reputation.
