Sharing Money Brought Nigeria To Where It Is Today – Peter Obi’s Movement

May 09, (THEWILL) – Peter Obi Candidacy Movement, a socio-political organisation, has faulted the culture of sharing money in the country, stressing that it has brought Nigeria to where it is today.

Leader of the group, Professor Stephen Ochang, disclosed this at the NUJ Press Centre, Calabar, during an engagement with media practitioners alongside other members of the movement.

He disclosed that most politicians sharing money are doing it as an investment with the hope of recouping the investment.

He called on the electorate to rather go for politicians who are coming to improve the system for the good of all.

According to Professor Ochang, “Peter Obi will not share money because sharing money brought us to where we are.

“Most of the people who are sharing money are doing it as an investment with the hope of recouping the investment.

“We have a leader who is not sharing money, but making the system better so everybody can get money.

“It is far better to create a system that works than for somebody to be sharing money and putting us in despair”, Professor Ochang said.

He said if we are interested in our future and that of our children, we should not support politicians who will share money and mortgage our future for four years.

He stressed that there is hardly anything that works and ASUU has been on strike for months and the government has done nothing.

He said it took the government four years to negotiate with ASUU from 2017 to 2021 and at the end the government wants to set up a committee to review the work of another committee.

He also cited the case of Calabar that has experienced power outage for over a month and making the system malfunction, thereby keeping people in despair.

He said Nigeria needs a leader like Peter Obi, who will correct the system and make it work for everybody.
