April 09, (THEWILL) – Olajide Kareem, aka Seun Egbegbe, has forgotten about his past ordeal and is now living life to the fullest.
The former filmmaker is back to the social circle and now mixing with his old friends.
On February 10, 2017, Egbegbe was remanded in prison for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence from about 40 Bureau De Change operators.
He was said to have obtained the money between 2015 to 2017.
The filmmaker was accused of swindling the BDC operators by claiming that he had naira to change into foreign currencies. He was also accused of stealing nine phones.
However, other charges, bordering on fraud, were dropped for lack of concrete evidence. He was put behind bars for about five years, but came out improverished and abandoned as many people no longer wanted to associate with him.
After his release, he granted an interview with BBC Yoruba, where he stated that he had turned a new leaf.
After the interview, Alhaji Musilu Akinsanya, aka Mc Oluomo, the Chairman of Lagos Parks Management, offered his hands of benevolence to him.
Mc Oluomo, who has been subject of abuse by Egbegbe in time past before his incarceration reached out to him and put him in charge of managing tricycles in a garage. He also rehabilitated him in the process.
Egbegbe was sighted as one of the guests of Wasiu Alabi Odetola, aka Pasuma, during the burial of his late mother a few days ago.
He exchanged pleasantries with other guests while assisting Pasuma to make some necessary arrangements during the ceremony.
