Serena Williams Opens Up About Potential Tennis Comeback

February 14, (THEWILL) – Serena Williams has once again shared her thoughts on a potential tennis comeback.

THEWILL recalls that the sporting legend retired from the game, following a strong showing at the US Open last year, but since then, has struggled with the decision. In a recent interview, Williams said, “I for sure feel more at peace now. It’s interesting. I think I feel torn because I’m still able to play at a very, very, very high level.”

When asked about her recent thoughts on returning to the sport, Williams stated: “I was playing earlier when I first retired because it was hard to do it cold turkey. But lately, I haven’t played so much. And I miss it. I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness. I gotta get out there’. But it’s hard for me to get out there.”

Despite her love for tennis, Williams also acknowledged that she is finding a new balance in her life, including a focus on her family and other businesses, saying: “I’m inch by inch finding my way. Obviously, I love other businesses that I’ve done. But just inch by inch leaning into that and leaning into my family and leaning into just having fun.”

However, the draw of the sport is still present for the 23-Grand-Slam champ. Her conflicting thoughts aside, Williams is embracing her new life and finding a sense of peace. She said, “I think it’s so important to do all those [things] and still create that balance.”
