SAN FRANCISCO, September 19, (THEWILL) – Senator Kabir Jibril, lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the upper legislative chamber from 2007-2011, is dead.
Jibril who became a senator on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) died on Tuesday morning.
He was born on the 18th of May, 1958 and graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with an LL.B in 1984.
He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in 1985 and later became the National Legal Advisor and National Secretary, North-West Zone for the PDP.
As a Senator, Jibril was a member of various committees and sponsored or co-sponsored different bills during this period.
Some of the bills were the National Inland Waterways Authority bill, an Amendment of the Nigeria Police Equipment Commission bill and the Police Act.
Others are Amendment of the Legal Practitioners Act, a Repeal and Re-enactment of the Police Act of 2009 and an Amendment to the 2009 Criminal Justice Act.
